The amazing thing to me is that I still love to
sing and perform now as much as I did when I was
in high school. I still get wound every Friday
and Saturday night. I still love to sit and
practice for far more hours than I should every
week and I still love to play songs I knew in
1972 as much as I get into learning new cover
tunes.
Music is my own personal
therapeutic capsule. I can't begin to tell you what a charge I get
out of being able to get up in front of people and perform. It is
truly one of my most favourite things to do.
I've been
playing in bars since early June of 1975. In the years from the end
of university (1980) thru the early part of my Chiropractic practice
(1985-89), I played some 150-200 shows a year. There were years in
there when I played to packed houses of 500+ people at places like
Brock University (1977 thru 1998) and Richard's (1988/89).
It was amazing!
Now, the people I play to don't get out as much as they used to (we
are all getting "more seasoned"), but when they do, it's still just
as much fun as ever. Places like
Mulligan's
(1983 to present day),
Jersey's
(2002-to now) and
Barracuda's
(2001
until now) still get wound up crowds in them on regular basis. The
enjoyment of playing these places never
stops.
If you seen me perform before, thank you for spending your precious
time with me. If you haven't made it yet, I would love the chance
to try and make your day a little more "sociable"!
Hope to see
you soon!
